some reflection during the pandemic. this is a letter to myself. putting my most personal and spiritual thoughts out there. hoping to expand my 'self'.
You expressed your feelings quite beautifully in words, Yesterday only me and some friends were discussing this on how joy and comfort are two totally different things 🙏
Wow.. You have written it so beautifully i feel inspired. Thanks to people like Swapnil and Tanvi and the entire team behind the curtains who are going out of the way to help and make a difference in life of people. It really feels so good by seeing people like you who are at such higher positions and having a nice job and still thinking a lot about the new generation. This is exactly what lord krishna teaches us through all of his stories that it doesn't matter at what position in life you are you should always try to help how much it is possible from your side.
A sincere gratitude to all of you lovely souls out there.💖
Made my day! I dont know if this writeup help me or not in the way you wanted to but it definitely makes sense. Thankyou for writing your experiences which motivates students like me.
Definitely as you said Tanay sir, happiness and joy totally different things. To actually experience life we need joy and not happiness, as joy is associated with selflessness, humanity and spirituality, but happiness is associated with one-self. I believe when we are happy ,we rarely care much about our surroundings, but we can only feel joyous when our surroundings along with us is happy. Like everyone else I also tried to do as much as i can to help people in pandemic, it really was not just happiness everytime anyone could get any help through me, i felt joyous, i felt happy and i had tears also in my eyes with it, to thank god that atleast i could help this one person and also a feeling to help more and more people. So relatable. Thanks for sharing!!
That's everything i feel right now but not able to say it loud. I have seen people changing after they start making good money, they behave as if they can control anything with money. But this pandemic has cleared this misconception of many, that everyone rich or poor have the same ending. Its what you do in between is matters. And people like Swapnil and Tanvi make us think about our purpose of life. I am searching for it too, i hope i find it soon. Very well put Tanay, you are doing a great job.
You have penned your feelings really beautifully. I know it can be really intimidating to put what you feel infront of everyone to judge.
Loved the essence of your post:
You realise your significance when you truly understand that you are insignificant in the bigger picture and you can feel complete when you can be part of something big that transforms life of other people in a good way.
Thank you Tanay bhaiya for writing this. I struggled with this thought for the past few days, trying to understand what would really bring true happiness, amidst so much grief around. Now I get it, it has to be selfless service. Also, I agree with you, ego is useless when we can see how insignificant we are in this vast universe. There is only so much we can do alone, but when we meet good people in our life, we are pushed to do so much more!
I am feeling like I will cry in a few minutes after reading this. Thank you so much Tanay Tanvi and Swapnil and every one in Team Tanay for making difference in our life Hope soon we will meet in level One. Once again Thank You very much for putting this beautifully.
Thanks Tanay for this enlightening & thoughtful post!
I would like to add around the the theme of your beautiful post.
Definition of Dharma ..it means " which sustains one's existence" for e.g, the dharma of sugar is to give sweetness, we can't seperate sweetness from the sugar , dharma of fire is to give heat and light we can't seperate heat and light from fire ... similarly the dharma of each living entity is to love and serve, it is the constitutional position of every living entity whether humans, animals, plants etc....as everyone is soul, everyone is serving someone or another...no one is a master..even the position of a President of a state is to give service to the citizens...even a so called selfish person is also a servant of his mind and senses....in one way or other everyone is serving. Recall ,one can't seperate this tendency to serve as it sustains one's existence that's why people are miserable, suffering as they are trying to become master which they can't, the only master is God( Krishna).....we are the parts and the God is the whole ...parts are meant to serve the whole...parts of the body are meant to serve the body...our hands can't enjoy the laddu but when they put it in mouth then goes to stomach every part feel satisfied. Therefore inspite of so much materialistic advancement people don't feel their life fulfiling and become dissatisfied and some fortunate souls turn towards finding the true meaning of life in realising the constitutional position of their self.
If interested to know more, I strongly recommend to read Bhagvad Gita As It Is - by A.C BhaktiVedanta Swami Prabhupad. It's most authentic coming in disciplic succession.
Thank you sir for posting this. I have no words to say. You are doing great work. I just want to say I would like to join you someday and help to do whatever I can do.

A lot of this is inspired by what Krishna told Arjun about karma yoga.

Wow... Along with your thoughts you beautifully crafted summary of a chapter from श्रीमद भगवद्गीता, the most motivational book I ever read before.
Such a beautiful piece, Tanay. Loved it!
So beautifully put up in words Gurudev!🙏
I read about purity and importance of 'guru-shishya' bond, few days ago.
And I can say that you are one such of a kind, since the time (almost 6 months) I've got to know about you,
and we are really blessed to grow under your guidance🙏
